This is a sequel to the movie Step Up that was released in 2006.
I wasn't too comfortable seeing a different, well, cast. But as the movie went on, it got a little better. I still think they could have done much better picking out and choosing whoever was supposed to play what..
The guy from part 1 had a teeny tiny part (of course, he was dancing!). It was about a girl; Andie, who screwed up hella times that she was gonna be sent to Texas with her aunt. And she lived in Baltimore (like you grew up in Manila and will be sent to Surigao or something like that)
So of course, she was given a second chance and went to school; MSA. So then that way, she'd be a pro at dancing and straighten her life out.. She got accepted. Then she had a hard time tryna fit in and all that. She met some friends and built her own crew as she was kicked out of her real crew: 410. With the help of a prince charming, I forgot his name, this all happened. At first, they got hella embarassed at the club and lost hope then eventually, got their confidence back.. Blah blah! They practiced some more and got better.. Then some words of wisdom here and there and that's it.
The Streets: it's like a dance competition of crews that basically grew up in the streets..
I'm not a big fan of the plot but I must give it to them. I like the last part when they were all dancin' and showin' 'em what they got..
It's pretty shallow but the dance performances were really good.. well, at least the last part..
.. and since I'm sleepy. I must say that this movie could wait until it comes out on DVD or Blue Ray or what not.. It's not worth the $$. But then again, it's just my opinion..
You should still see it for yourself.. I was checkin the reviews they have for this and it had mixed reviews and different opinion-- but like they say, you have to experience it first hand to be able to agree or disagree with what I think.
Ya feel me? LOL!
